Three roads meet near the middle of the Falls, and each has a number on its signs as well as a name:
Up by Exit 52, the stores are the easier landmark: Target, Kohl’s, JCPenney and Metro Market are mapped west of the interchange, with Costco southeast of them, toward Pilgrim Road.
Three low-clearance points are mapped in Menomonee Falls, and two of them are mapped at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital: one at 10 ft 6 in and one at 13 ft 11 in. The third, 13 ft 6 in, is north of Main Street between Pilgrim Road and Shady Lane.
Ten and a half feet is tight for a tall vehicle riding on a flatbed deck. If the car is under a covered hospital entrance or inside a structure, tell the dispatcher before the truck is chosen, and say whether the car can roll out in neutral. Twelve posted weight limits are mapped in the Falls. Fond du Lac Avenue and Water Street are posted at 6 tons; Mill Street, Shady Lane, Tamarack Trail, Grand Avenue and Roosevelt Drive at 3 tons. Give the last exit sign you passed and your direction. The 50 and 51 ramps are mapped less than a mile apart, at Main Street and Pilgrim Road, so “northbound, just past 50B” is clearer than either number alone.
